Nigeria’s contingent to the Davis Cup in Nairobi, Kenya has landed in the East African country without some regular names on the list.

According to Nigeria Tennis Live findings, the trio of Sylvester Emmanuel, Christian Paul and Joseph Imeh were dropped from the team to play the promotional competition.

The trio were out rightly replaced with Sunday Audu, Emmanuel Idoko and Emmanuel Paul, all of whom are like newcomers to the competition holding on clay court in Kenya.

The players are expected to help Nigerian earn the elusive promotion from its present Africa Zone Group III.

Nigeria Tennis Live will speak with the technical adviser of the Nigeria Tennis Federation, Coach Rotimi Akinloye, to find out the implications of dropping the top Nigerian players from participating in the competition.

Recall that Sunday was one of Nigeria’s better players at the recently concluded African Games in Rabat, Morocco, where Nigeria’s women won the country two bronze medals in the doubles and team events.
