Feelers from Cotonou, the Benin Republic capital, have it that Nigerian male players; Sylvester Emmanuel and Christopher Bulus, participating at the ongoing ONG PLAY YOUR GAME Tennis Open, have advanced to the next stage of the competition.

Nigerian Tennis Live had reported that the players scaled through to the round of 32 without hitting a ball in the tournament which is also being played by Ghanaians, Togolese and Cameroonians, but they have even gone further.

Sylvester Emmanuel keeps getting stronger after his incredible return from injury.

As at the time of filing this report, there were no concrete details about the players that the Nigerian players defeated, but our impeccable source from the West Coast reports that both players have qualified for the round of 16.

Bulus defeated home-based Sylvester Monnou in two straight sets of 6-1, 6-1 while Sylvester, who is just returning from injury, beat his Akli Koffi, his Togolese counterpart 7-6, 4-2 (rtd) to move to the next phase of the competition.

Nigerian Tennis Live will keep reaching out to the players in Benin to get more updates from them and publish as they progress in the competition.
