Nigeria’s players at the ongoing ONG PLAY YOUR GAME Tennis Open in Benin Republic have advanced to the next phase of the tournament.

According to information made available to Nigerian Tennis Live, the quartet of Sylvester Emmanuel, Christopher Bulus, Sarah Adegoke and Patience Onebamhoin have made it to the quarter final stage of the tournament.

Sylvester Emmanuel seems to be getting better with each game that he has played in the tournament.

Bulus, who has been on a roller-coaster ride since the commencement of the tournament strolled to another easy win in his match against Togo’s Kadanga Paul, defeating his opponent in two straight sets of 6-0, 6-3.

In his match against Ghana’s Ziab Pascal, Sylvester who is still struggling with his fitness, fought hard before winning 6-3, 1-6, 6-2 and advancing to the quarter final stage of the championship.

Adegoke who got a bye in her first match, defeated Honroga Emmehino from Benin Republic, 6-3, 6-0, just as Onebamhoin got the better of Gloriana Nahum in a 6-4, 6-2 game which guaranteed her place in the last eight of the tournament.

With these results, the Nigerian players are all looking set to berth in the semis of the open tournament which is being attended by players from several other West African countries.

Nigerian Tennis Live will keep monitoring Nigerian players’ progress in the tournament and keep reporting the updates to our followers.
