Tennis lovers and enthusiasts will be treated to top junior tennis action today when the final matches of the Azimuth Shipping Lines Junior Tennis Championship lights up the courts at the tennis section of the Victoria Garden City Club.
The tournament had begun since Monday, 21 January, with over 120 kids storming the tennis courts of the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos, for their registration.
And as the games continued, the big boys were separated from the boys, making their way to the final for a set of entertaining fixtures to look out for.
In the boys’ U-12, Idris Mohammed will take on Segun Ogunshakin as Joshua Maxwell and Sunday Ameh trade tackles in the U-14 boys’ category.
The biggest match of the day will take place in the boys’ U-16 between top junior player David Dawariye and national U-14 champion, Daniel Adeleye.
Recall that Adeleye (from Ekiti State) had mentioned Dawariye as the only threat he has towards winning the tournament, and he rightly got what he wanted in the final to either prove himself right or do even better.
