Ayegbusi Confirmed As Nigeria’s New Number One Player (Full Ranking)
Anu Ayegbusi has emerged as Nigeria’s new number one female tennis player in the newly-released national rankings obtained by Nigeria Tennis Live.
Ayegbusi has been one of the most consistent players on the Nigerian tennis circuit, reaching the finals of two national tournaments in 2024, winning one of them.
Over the past few years, she has played second fiddle to the tireless and relentless Marylove Edwards, but her efforts seem to be eventually yielding fruits with the recent ranking.

The UNIPORT Graduate is also Nigeria’s most dreaded female player at the moment as she is one of the most consistent players on the court.
She is closely followed by Khadijat Mohammed, the defending champion of the Dala Hard Court tennis competition, and one of Nigeria’s top players on the junior ITF rankings.

For the Men, David Ekpenyong maintains his lead on top of the log after winning both the DavNotch and VEMP national championships in 2023.
Coming in second is Henry Atseye, former national champion who rolled back the years to win the Dala Hard Court championship in 2023 and show the youngsters how to right for their points on the court.
