Amazing: Nigeria’s Venus Bags Tennis Scholarship, Set To Join Bulus In The United States

Nigeria’s Venus Ubiebi will be the second Nigerian at the New Mexico Military Institute (NMMI) to continue with her education and tennis development, Nigerian Tennis Live can authoritatively report.

Although our correspondent could not ascertain the length of the deal and details, Dan O’Connell, the ladies’ tennis coach at the institute made this announcement on Facebook, where he also revealed that Martins Abamu, another Nigerian youngster, is expected at the institute in January, 2019.

Venus will make a return to the United States and be in the ladies’ team of the New Mexico Military Institute.

The NMMI coach wrote: “NMMI welcomes Nigerian player Venus Ubiebi in August to our ladies team. Venus is gaining a tip from her coach and father, Abel Ubiebi. The third person pictured is Martins Abamu Jr.

“We expect Martins to join the NMMI men’s team in January. Looking forward to the 2018-19 school year. Go Bronco’s!”

With the recent development, Venus will fancy her chances of reuniting with Christopher Bulus, her colleague at the Aces Tennis Academy who became an instant hit having joined the institute early in January.

Nigerian Tennis Live will keep monitoring the players’ progress in the United States and keep our followers updated with their performances.
