AMAZING: Nigeria’s Philips Moves 192 Places, Oyinlomo Jumps Up Too In Newly Released ITF Rankings
Young Nigerian tennis prodigy, Abayomi Philips has moved about 192 places in the junior ITF rankings released by the International Tennis Federation (ITF).
Philips made it to three Junior ITF Circuit finals in three weeks, winning one and losing two in the process, as well as losing out in the early stage of one of the competitions.
This consistent performance by the player has earned him points on the circuit, from Ghana to Togo and Benin Republic, where he has shone like millions.
Presently, Philips is ranked 576 in the world, a feat which he possibly never dreamt of at the beginning of September.
In the same vein, super talented tennis youngster, Oyinlomo Quadre, has moved upwards about 17 places from her previous 228 placement on the ITF rankings.
She recently accumulated these points after winning a Grade 4 Junior ITF Circuit in Cotonou, Benin Republic, over the weekend.
The youngster who is now Africa’s number four best female tennis player, will shift her focus to the fast approaching Lagos Open tournament where all eyes will be on her after an amazing season of tennis action.
