Amasiani Shines At African Junior Tennis Championship In Namibia

Chukwudubem Amasiani is currently having a good time at the ongoing Confederation of African Tennis (CAT) U-14 tournament in Namibia.

The Nigerian teenager who recently turned 13 is the country’s sole representative at the U-14 Championship which consists of seven other countries.

Egypt, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Tunisia, Libya, Nigeria, Kenya, Namibia are the countries participating in the event which the talented Nigerian tennis sensation dominated in the Singles and Doubles.

After a series of outstanding wins in the Singles event including a bagel against one of his opponents, Amasiani succumbed to the tournament’s number one seed, Ahmed ABID, losing the final in a close 4-6, 4-6 game.

The Nigerian youngster’s dominance was evident when he partnered his opponent in the Singles final do win the Doubles event.

As at the time of filing this report, the second leg of the competition had kicked off in Namibia, as Amasiani looks to bounce back from the only defeat that stopped him from winning the U-14 title Singles and Doubles titles.
