AJC Togo: Ogunsakin, Okonkwo Land In All-Nigeria U-16 Final

The Nigerian duo of Seun Ogunsakin and Ikenna Okonkwo will be playing the Boys U-16 final at the West & Central African Junior Tennis Championship in Togo.

Nigeria Tennis Live gathered that the Nigerian boys who were the only ones who won their matches on Monday, 8 January, 2024, moved one place further by winning their respective matches on Tuesday afternoon.

This piece of news will gladden the hearts of Nigerians after seeing the country’s bright start to the competition wane following losses in the Boys & Girls 14 as well as the Girls 16 matches.

No matter what the outcome of this encounter between both friends is, Nigeria is assured of one gold and one silver medal in the individual event which ends on Wednesday, 10 January, 2024.

Ogunsakin has been one of Africa’s most prolific junior players in the past few years, rising to the peak of the African U-14 rankings in 2023.

His impressive performance earned him wild card to play in the Junior Grand Slam events, the Orange Bowl as well as a tour of Europe, among others.

Nigerians will be hoping to see the youngster achieving even more and becoming even better in the coming months as he starts playing ore Junior ITF events.
