AJC: Nigeria On A Roller Coster Ride In Togo, Edge Towards Qualification For S/Africa

Nigeria’s players slugging it out in Togo have continued their dominance at the African Junior Tennis Championship with comprehensive wins.

This was after a series of convincing victories over many players in different categories – both male and female.

MaryLove Edwards is also coasting at the AJC in Togo.

David Dawariye was responsible for the victory against Ibrahim Quattara from Côte d’Ivoire 6-1, 6-2 as well as Mariano (Benin) winning 6-3, 6-1.

Wilson Igbinovia who lost his last match, recovered in time to beat Roberto from Benin Republic 6-4, 6-3 just as Marylove Edward outwitted Aghogjovia from Ghana 6-0, 6-0, but Rebecca Peters lost to Coullibaly 0,6/2,6 and bounced back with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Marie

In similar fashion, Toyin Asogba overpowered Tomega from Ghana 6-3, 6-4 just as Bamidele took responsibility for the exit of Pasta from Burkina Faso in a 6-0,6-0 win.

Aderemi Omolade thrashed Aido Cindy from Ghana 6-0, 6-0 to complete the unassailable lead for the Nigerian contingent in the West African country.

A minimum of one hundred players from Benin, Cameroon, Burkina Faso, Cote d’Ivoire, Gabon, Ghana,  Mali, Liberia, Nigeria, Senegal and hosts, Togo are taking part in the tournament.

And the best five players in the 16 and 14 categoris will automatically earn qualification to the African Junior Championships which will take place in March in Republic of South Africa.
