Joseph Imeh completed a quartet of notable national wins after dominating the men’s tennis event at the recently concluded National Sports Festival to clinch gold at the Men’s Singles.
Imeh, the Nigerian number one male tennis player who represented Akwa Ibom at the bi-annual tournament in Abuja, defeated his Davis Cup teammate and Nigerian number two, Sylvester Emmanuel of Delta State, in two straight sets of 6-1, 6-4.

Nigerian Tennis Live reports that this win represents the fourth time this year, that Imeh would win something big on the national stage after having emerged as Nigeria’s number one in 2017 without winning a major final.
He won the second edition of the Rainoil Tennis Open Championship, came out tops at the Dala Hard Court tournament in Kano, led his young Team Tech Vibe to victory at the NCC Tennis League before crowing it all with a gold medal at the National Sports Festival.
It will be a year to remember for the young tennis superstar who had been criticized for his inability to translate his consistency on the court over the years to championship winning feats.
Nigerian Tennis Live will seek to interview the young man and ask how he feels having such an amazing year in tennis on the local front.
