Africa Youth Games: Ireland-based Obasoto Set To Land In Lagos As Preps Hit Top Gear

Ireland-based Adebola Obasoto is expected to land at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, any moment from now to join his colleagues at the Ikeja Country Club, as preparations continue ahead of the Africa Youth Games scheduled to hold in Algiers, Algeria, later this month.

Nigerian Tennis Live reports that the youngster who had been billed to join other Nigerian youngsters ahead of the tournament, will by 4pm, Nigerian time, touch down at the airport, from where he will proceed to the team’s camp to meet his colleagues.

Obasoto is expected in Nigeria any moment from now ahead of the Africa Youth Games. 

According to Coach Mohammed Ubale, Nigeria’s junior tennis coach, Obasoto will be coming in to continue the preparations for the youth competition for which Nigeria is expected to travel on 16 July for the competition which kicks off on 18 July.

“Preparations are in top gear and as we speak, we expect the arrival of Adebola who should touch down at the airport by 4pm Nigerian time today.

“The players are presently putting final touches to their training and I believe we have all it takes to have an amazing tournament in Algeria. 

“(Christopher) Bulus should also join us by Monday next week while Olatunji (Adetayo) joins us from her base in South Africa. In all, things are really getting into shape for the players and I can only say that we will give a good account of ourselves in Algeria,” Coach Ubale told our correspondent.

Nigerian Tennis Live will keep monitoring the players’ preparations ahead of the tournament which holds from 18-28 July, 2018.
