Adewale Isa Tennis: Atilola, Terso, Godwin Breeze Into Epic Finale
10-year-old Mofifunoluwa Atilola has reached her first ever final in an U-14 national junior tournament at the ongoing Adewale Isa Foundation Junior Tennis Championship.
The Lagos-based tennis youngster who does not turn 11 until October, 2024, was upgraded to the U-14 cadre of the annual tournament after dominating the U-12s for a very long period.
And Atilola, playing in her debut U-14 national event, did not disappoint, as she fought her way into the finale of the competition where she will be facing a familiar foe in Gloria Samuel.

The match will be a repeat of the finals at the recently held FE & P Junior Invitational Tennis Championship where Ekiti-based Samuel got the better of the youngster in the pro set.
Goodluck Terso, making his debut at the tournament, will be playing the Boys U-12 final against Godwin Kingsley in what is expected to be another explosive encounter while budding tennis sensation from Bayelsa State Karina Opuene makes it to her first Girls U-12 final.
Opuene who trains and plays at the Goodluck Jonathan Tennis Foundation in Yenagoa will have to overcome the relentless Joy Emmanuel to cop her first national title.

In other matches to be decided on Saturday, 17 August, 2024, vastly experienced Seyi Ogunsakin will hope to finally win the Adewale Isa juniors event when he comes up against Mohammed Amir in the Boys U-14 final.
Bright Emmanuel of the Apapa Tennis Club will stand a chance to win the Girls U-16 title when she comes up against Favour Godwin from the Mambilla Barracks Tennis Club in Abuja while the Boys U-16 final is an all-Abuja affair as Musa Mahmud takes on Yohanna Yakubu.
Matches are expected to serve off by 9am on Saturday morning inside the tennis section of the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos, as the fifth edition of the Adewale Isa Foundation Junior Tennis Championship reaches its climax.
