Adewale Isa Tennis: Atilola, Amasiani, Terso Target Finals In Lagos

Mofifunoluwa Atilola will be targeting a final berth in the Girls U-14 at the ongoing Adewale Isa Foundation Junior Tennis Championship in Lagos.

The talented national U-12 champion who was moved to the U-14 category after winning virtually every tournament around, continued her impeccable form in the higher category despite the fact that she doesn’t turn 11 until October, 2024.

Atilola put up a spirited fight against Bisola Ogunkolade, also Lagos-based, to reach the semifinal of the event in the match which she won 4-0, 4-1.

As at the time this report was compiled, the other matches had yet to be decided to determine who would be facing the FE & P Junior Tennis Invitational U-12 champion in the first semis.

Chukwbuikem Amasiani, playing in the boys U-12 event, will be looking to reach the finals of the ongoing Adewale Isa Foundation Junior Tennis Championships in Lagos.

The Amasiani brothers have been exceptional all week and their current standings in the national junior tennis championship is a clear indication of how strong they have been.

Goodluck Terso

While Chukwudubem has reached the quarterfinal in the U-16 at the first time of trying, the younger Amasiani will be taking on Daniel Usoh in the first semifinals while Samuel Adegbite will try to get the better of another outstanding player in Goodluck Terso from Benue State.

Terso who has had to overcome a number of hurdles to reach the semis in his first ever appearance at the Adewale Isa tournament is being consistently hailed by tennis observers at the tennis section of the National Stadium , Surulere, venue of the tournament.

Several other matches yet to be decided as at Thursday, 15 August, 2024, will be concluded on Friday as the Adewale Isa Foundation Junior Tennis Championship reaches its climax.
