Organisers of the Tombim Abuja ITF Futures 1 & 2 have set a deadline for players who are interested in playing for Wild Cards to participate in the tournament.
Naija Tennis Special gathered that there would be a competition in Abuja on 20 April, where the players will slug it out for the ten wild cards available for grabs in the ATP Points-awarding competition.
According to Musa Saidu, one of the Umpires for the tournament, “Tombim Abuja Open ITF Future 1 and 2 comes up between 25 April and 9 May 2015. There shall be four Wild Card slots for the Main Draws and six Wild Card slots for the Qualifying event. “Players interested in playing for the available Wild Card slots should contact the Tournament Director, Barrister Ikani Agabi, to register their names on or before 19 April, 2015 otherwise, they will not be allowed to play in the competition altogether.
“The wild card event holds from 20- 24 April, 2015at the Tennis Complex, National Stadium Complex, Package B’ Abuja and players will be responsible for their accomodation, feeding and transportation during the week-long wild card play off”.
