Abuja Coaches Troop Out En Masse As Spanish Trainers Move Train To Nigeria’s Capital (Photos)
No fewer than 29 Nigerian coaches stormed the Package B of the National Stadium in Abuja, Nigeria’s Federal Capital Territory, Nigerian Tennis Live has gathered.
According to pictures sent to Nigeria’s number one tennis blog, the three-day training is being anchored by the Spanish trainers from Barcelona after conducting same in Lagos after the Governor’s Cup Lagos Tennis Championship which ended last weekend.
At the Lagos training, about 22 coaches were reportedly registered for the classes but only nine were successful, and were declared some of the best in the country by Pere Riba, the lead trainer.

And on Thursday, October 26, the coaches in Abuja were taken through a session on path to professionalism, while Friday is scheduled to tackle future development while the final day is for evaluation.
The president of the Nigeria Tennis Federation (NTF), Engr. Ifedayo Akindoju, was reportedly at the venue of the training and has been consistently reminding the coaches of the federation’s plan to take tennis in the country to the next level.
