AAG Camp Update: Everyone Is Eager To Represent Nigeria – Akinloye
Coach Rotimi Akinloye, the head of the Nigeria Tennis Federation, NTF’s technical unit, has spoken about Nigeria’s preparations for the forthcoming All African Games in Ghana.
Akinloye, arguably Nigeria’s most experienced coach, has been overseeing the activities of players who are currently camping inside the National Stadium, Abuja, and has spoken about the players’ preparations and readiness for the competition.
In a brief chat with Nigeria Tennis Live, he noted that the players have been responding well to the training both on their physicality and pre-game situations.
He also confirmed that the enthusiasm of the players makes it obvious that they’re interested and eager to represent Nigeria at the African Games.

According to him: “They’re responding well to the training both physicality and pre-game situation. We see a lot of enthusiasm because everyone is eager to represent Nigeria.
“Everyone is putting in 100% despite knowing they’re not all going and that tells you that the players know why they’re in camp.
“The coaches are also not resting on their oars to ensure that the players are perfectly ready for the competition.”
Our correspondent also asked him about the readiness of the foreign-based players expected to join the team heading out to Ghana and he noted that they were being monitored.
“We’re also monitoring the others who are not with us. One is in Rwanda, and others are playing College tennis now, because they’re in season now.
“They’re also reaching out to us to give us some updates about their activities, this goes to show that we’re all in sync with the activities of these players who are not with us,” Coach Akinloye explained.
