Nigeria’s Alex Adewale is just one match away from the final of the ongoing Nairobi Open after a straight sets defeat of Alwande Silkhosana from South Africa.

The Nigerian former US Open star won the match 7-5, 6-4 to advance to the semis of the Singles where he needs to defeat another South African to pull through to the final phase of the competition.

According to the draw and Nigeria Tennis Live checks, Adewale, fondly referred to as Osama, will take up the tournament’s number one seed, Evans Maripa, for a final berth.

Even though the Ondo-born Nigerian player is tipped to create an unlikely upset, he will have to be at his extreme best to achieve this against his fiery opponent.

Wasiu Yusuf, a former African number one player, was quite unlucky in his clash against Lhaj Boukartacha from Morocco, as he crumbled in two straight sets of 3-6, 3-6.

As at the time of filing this report, there were no updates on the outcome of the Nigerian player’s encounter against the South African.

However, Nigeria Tennis Live will be on top of the game and report the outcome to our teeming audience across the world.
