After J3 Conquest In Pretoria, Nigeria’s Quadre Steps Up Again, Battles Top Players In Grade 2 Invitational
Nigeria’s Oyinlomo Quadre has stepped up in her quest to be among the top 50 world junior tennis stars, Nigeria Tennis Live can report.
The blazing hot youngster won the J3 ITF event in Pretoria, South Africa, without breaking a sweat, as she dumped her opponents in straight sets, without dropping a single set.
After this conquest, the 16-year-old Nigerian number one female tennis star has now set her sights at the invitational Grade 2 Junior championship in South Africa, where she is already one of the top seeds.
Quadre whose present ranking of 200 in the world will be updated after the release of the ITF rankings on Monday morning, had played two weeks of Grade 2 tournaments in January, but didn’t as much as pick a point.
Buoyed by her recent run of form, however, the player is now set to battle it out against really tough African opponents in South Africa.
Nigeria Tennis Live gathered that her first match comes up on Monday, 10 February, against South Africa’s Delien Kleinhans on Court 15.
Although the Nigerian number three seed is expected to ease past her South African opponent, it may not be as easy in the J2 competition which is being played by only African players.
Nigeria Tennis Live will keep up with the player’s performance and progress in South Africa and report to our teeming followers scattered across the world.
