Facts have emerged on how the Adewale Isa Foundation ensured that they kept to their words on facilitating a trip to the United States for youngster Chukwudubem Amasiani.
The youngster qualified for the trip after emerging as the winner of the Adewale Isa Foundation Junior Tennis Championship in Lagos, and the trip was eventually facilitated in 2025.
Mrs. Judith Amasiani, the youngster’s mum, who traveled with him to the United States, spoke with Nigeria Tennis Live and shared details of the trip.
According to her: “We were happy when Nurudeen called last year to inform us that Duby had been offered training scholarship in the US by The Courts McKinney, because of the titles he won at Adewale Isa Foundation tournament in 2022 & 2023.

“The scholarship included training and Airfare for the player. Nurudeen was kind to assist in logistics most of the time. Matt Hanling, the CEO of Impact Activities was also supportive, he gave Duby new rackets and assisted us with accommodation when Duby had to play ITF Junior in California”.
Speaking on the benefits of the trip, Mrs. Amasiani explained further that: “This is an opportunity we are glad to have taken because Duby got to train with the high performance team. He has also gotten good exposure into tennis in the US. The Courts McKinney is a good place to start your journey into competitive tennis.

“We enjoyed our stay there, the coaches were very kind to Duby and we will go back whenever possible. Duby has improved in a spate of 2 months, thanks to the training from McKinney, we are now looking at the next level for him.
“We want to sincerely thank the Isa family, the staff at The Courts McKinney and the lovely parents and players for making our stay worthwhile”.

Mr. Nurudeen Isa, one of the Directors at the Alhaji Isa Foundation, was excited about the trip for the youngster, noting that it is the foundation’s way of encouraging youngsters in Nigeria and aid the development of tennis in Nigeria.
“As I have always said, as a foundation, we are always ready to do everything we can to encourage tennis development in Nigeria.

“Apart from our flagship tournament that we hold annually, the foundation is also committed to tennis development in Nigeria and this trip is one of the ways we are bringing this to reality.
“Duby is a very very good player, and apart from the fact that he won our tennis tournament, he is a delight to work with as the coaches noted so it has been a pleasure making this work in conjunction with everyone involved.

“We hope to do a lot more for the Nigerian kids in the coming years, as we continue to build on our late father’s legacy of building the next generation of tennis youngsters from Nigeria,” Alhaji Isa (Jnr.) told our correspondent.
Amasiani is not the only youngster who has enjoyed the benevolence of the Adewale Isa Foundation after winning their tournament, Joel Michael was also a recipient of this training tour of the United States after winning the AIF Junior Tennis event.
