Nigeria’s hopes of progressing beyond the second round of the ongoing Tombim Abuja ITF Futures suffered a blow this morning when two of the Nigerian players in the second round were sent packing by the top seeds of the competition.
Clifford Enosoregbe, who had such high hopes of advancing at the expense of his more experienced counterpart, Deiton Baughman from USA, lost the match but not without a fight. Baughman won 6-2, 6-4.
Christian Paul, who also battled number one seed, Nedunchezhiyan Jeevan, lost to the firepower of the 2014 Governor’s Cup Lagos Tennis Finalist 6-3, 6-0.
As at the time of filing this report, Moses Michael was leading serving at 4-4 against number eight seed, Cortes Alcaraz at the court one of the Package B, National Stadium, Abuja, where the tournament is presently going on.
