Nigeria Tennis Live gathered that the inaugural edition held in 2023 hosted about 60 people but the organizers are looking at more than 150 persons participating in the 2024 edition of the event.
“Yes it is open to tennis fans and enthusiasts across the country even though we don’t have sponsors for now, it’s just the members of the Tennis Everywhere group that are supporting,” one of the organizing team members told our correspondent.
“Our members are mostly from the southern hemisphere, but it is our desire to ensure that this event becomes big enough to take people from different parts of the country.
“Tennis is becoming more popular in Nigeria and bringing people together irrespective of their tennis clubs is paramount for us, and that’s why we are excitedly doing this,” he added.
Activities lined up for the event include tennis exhibition matches, karaoke, gala night, picnic, team bonding activities, water polo, among others.
Interested participants are requested to pay a token of N2,000 for the tag which is the gate pass for everyone who will be attending the event. This is also accompanied by a merch for the event which costs about N10,000 only.
