Check Out Nigeria’s New Davis Cup Ranking After Promotion To World Group II Playoffs

Nigeria gained promotion to Davis Cup World Group II playoffs after an impeccable performance at the recent Africa Group III Qualifiers in Abuja.

The host nation parading the likes of Christopher Bulus, Michael Emmanuel, Uche Oparaoji, Daniel Adeleye and Wilson Igbinovia, lost only to Namibia (0-3) in the entire tournament.

Ahead of the tournament, Nigeria was ranked 92 in the world, and was the lowest ranked of the six nations that participated in the week-long tennis event in Nigeria’s federal capital.

Recall that Nigeria only gained promotion to Africa Group III after years of languishing in Africa Group IV and followed that up, remarkably too, with a solid promotion to World Group II playoffs within a year.

As at the time of filing this report, it could not be ascertained whom Nigeria’s opponent at the World Group II playoffs will be, however, Nigeria Tennis Live will keep in touch with Davis Cup to find out whom our next opponents will be.
