The former African U-14 number two player is one of Nigeria’s hopefuls at the event and will be targeting a maiden U-16 title when he takes on his opponent from Mali in the final on Sunday, 18 January, 2026.

In the Girls’ U-16, Goodnews Aina, proved her number one seeding beyond reasonable doubt, by also powering into the finals of the Girls’ U-16 event, giving Nigeria her second finals berth at the tournament.

Goodnews Aina will be representing Nigeria at the Africa Youth Games in Luanda, Angola.

Not only the Ekiti-born tennis teenage player was on top of her game, Lagos-based Atilola also stepped up during her semifinal match as she came from behind to hand her opponent a resounding defeat in Togo.
