No fewer than 11 Nigerian tennis youngsters are currently in Lome, Togo for the ITF/CAT West & Central Africa Tennis Championship.
The Nigerian players will be in contention for CAT points to boost their continental rankings as well as seek qualification for the main Africa Junior Tennis Championships in Kenya, later this year.
The two-leg event is one of the most keenly contested (and anticipated) junior tennis competitions holding across every CAT zone in Africa.

Nigeria Tennis Live gathered that the bulk of the youngsters (about eight) arrived Lome in the early hours of Thursday, 15 January, 2026, having reportedly traveled from Abuja to Lagos before embarking on the trip to Togo from Lagos.

The draws obtained by our correspondent showed that the Igbinovia brothers (in the Boys’ U-14) are the only ones with matches on Day 1 of the competition, alongside Godwin (Girls’ U-16).
