    JUST IN! US Olympic Development Coach Confirmed For African Coaches Conference

    Nigeria Tennis Live can authoritatively confirm that Brian de Villers has confirmed his attendance at the 2026 African Coaches Conference holding in Abuja, Nigeria’s Federal Capital.

    Villers, a world renowned high-performance coach has over 30 years of coaching experience and is more famous for coaching American player, Melaine Oudin from age 9 through her breakout run to the 2009 US Open quarterfinals.

    In 2008, he was named the US Olympic Development Coach of the year and in 2010, he was adjudged the USPTA Southern Touring Coach of the year.

    An excited Coach Abel Ubiebi, convener of the African Coaches Conference, told our correspondent that the presence of the American coach adds a lot of value to the event scheduled to hold from 16-18 April, 2026, as he is one of the most sough after developmental coaches in the world.

    “We are so happy that Coach Villers will be one of the speakers. He is a thorough developmental coach and his presence has just elevated our event to another level.

    “Everyone who will be participating in this coaching conference will be more than grateful that they did because of the calibre of people who will be speaking at the event,” the Chicago-based PTR Technician stated.

    Ahead of the events, also, Coach Ubiebi informed that there is another discount for coaches who participate in the certification and are also participating in the Conference.

    According to him: “For those who will register for the certification, PTR has given grant to discount their fee for the conference. So they are to pay $250 for the conference.

    “We are doing this because it is not always that we are able to bring these kind of Speakers together in one room at the same time, therefore, we want a lot of our coaches to benefit from this one-of-its-kind conference”.
