Seun Ogunsakin was not in action for Nigeria when the second round of matches at the ongoing Africa Youth Games were played on Monday, 15 December, 2025.
The Nigerian top junior tennis sensation was the competition’s number one seed and as the highest ranked player in the tournament, but he was not present as at time of the match, therefore, had to forfeit the match.

Nigeria Tennis Live gathered that Ogunsakin could not arrive Luanda, Angola – venue of the tournament – early from USA where he was playing a tournament, hence his failure to participate in the opening round of matches and the subsequent walkover.

Goodnews Aina, however, made good use of her participation in the event, as she easily won 6-0, 6-0 against Mozambiquan player, Akemy Chonguica, to reach the quarterfinal of the event.

Aina, one of the seeded players at the Africa Youth Games, will face off against Benin Republic’s Jessica Togbe, who also defeated the number five seed, Nancy Kawira from Kenya, 6-1, 6-1.
The Nigerian youngster will have to defeat her opponent to stand a chance of reaching the business end of the competition and put herself in a medals spot in the Games.
