The International Tennis Federation (ITF) has announced Nigeria’s opponent for the Davis Cup World Group II Playoffs in 2026.

Nigeria qualified for the World Group II playoffs after an intense battle against four other African countries during an Africa Group III Qualifying event in Harare Zimbabwe in August, 2025.

The Nigerian team qualified alongside Namibia and Senegal ahead of Algeria and Zimbabwe from the five-man group and will be playing in the World Group II Playoffs for the second consecutive year.

According to the newly-released Davis Cup draw for the playoffs, Nigeria will be playing against Uzbekistan after the Asian country lost the World Group I payoffs early this year.

The event which is billed to hold between 6 and 8 February, 2026 will be hosted by Nigeria, against the country ranked 49 and who have players in the top 400 of world rankings within their ranks.
