Seun Ogunsakin from Nigeria has reached a J200 final for the first time in his fledgling career, Nigeria Tennis Live can authoritatively report.
The 16-year-old teenage sensation reached the semifinal of the J200 Pretoria event after defeating America’s Izyan Ahmad in straight sets of 7-6(2), 6-4 – a historic feat for him already.

The youngster has now defeated Eoghan Jennings from Ireland 6-4, 6-4 in the semifinal of the J200 competition and will be playing a J200 final on Friday, against Russia’s Kirill Filaretov for a chance to reach the top 100 in world tennis.

Ogunsakin, winner of two J100 titles in 2025 alone, can add to that list when he takes on the Russian number eight seed, for his second consecutive top junior ITF after winning the J100 Pretoria event last weekend.
The Nigerian tennis wizkid is the first Nigerian player to win two J100 titles, and he is able to topple that by becoming the first Nigerian player ever to win the J200 title if he gets past his opponent this weekend.
Nigeria Tennis Live will bring our readers up to speed with all the latest updates from the tournament which ends this weekend, in South Africa.
