Reports reaching Nigeria Tennis Live have it that Success Ogunjobi may have been ruled out of participating at the Billie Jean King Cup Africa Group III Qualifier in Namibia.
Ogunjobi, Nigeria’s most inform junior female tennis player at the moment, has been playing junior ITF tournaments in Zimbabwe since her DavNotch Open triumph against Bright Emmanuel in Abuja, and was scheduled to team up with the Nigerian squad in Namibia after her outing.

However, Nigeria Tennis Live checks revealed that the highest ranked female Nigerian player on the ITF rankings, is not likely to take part in the competition as she is in the Main Draw of a J100 Harare event in Zimbabwe, which serves off on Monday, 4 August, 2025.

This automatically leaves the Nigerian team with the trio of Adesuwa Osabuohien, Oyinlomo Quadre, and current Nigerian number one female tennis player, Khadijat Mohammed, to prosecute the qualifiers.
Osabuohien, winner of the 2025 CBN National Open Tennis Championship in Abuja, arrived Namibia before her teammates, and kept awaiting their arrival.

However, none of her teammates arrived earlier than Sunday, 3 August, 2025, after reported issues with flights, visa and other logistics anomalies.

As at 2137hrs on Sunday, 3 August, 2025, Nigeria Tennis Live gathered that only the duo of Quadre and Osabuohien had touched base in Namibia despite the team having an early match on Monday, 4 August, in their quest to gain promotion from Africa Group III.
The duo of Mohammed and Coach Rotimi Akinloye, the team’s non-playing captain, are expected in Namibia any moment ahead of the opening match.

Nigeria is grouped alongside Ghana, Botswana and Uganda in Group B of the qualifying series, and will play against Uganda in the opening round of matches slated for Monday, 4 August, 2025.
Like in previous years, the playing format for the Billie Jean King Cup event is three rubbers; two Singles, one Doubles.

All eyes are on the Nigerian team as they look forward to picking the sole ticket from the Africa Group III which has 12 nations, among which are Algeria, Kenya, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Tunisia, Madagascar, Burundi, Morocco, competing for the same goal.
