Nigeria’s Seun Ogunsakin has broken into the top 10 of African junior tennis players on the ITF rankings, Nigeria Tennis Live can confirm.
This feat is coming on the heels of his J100 win in Mexico over the weekend, where he defeated the number one seed Aaron Gabet 6-1, 6-1 for his third title of year 2025.
Ogunsakin is now ranked 192 in the world after moving 42 places in the latest world rankings released by the International Tennis Federation (ITF) on Monday, 14 July, 2025.

The Tunisia-based tennis teenager is also the number one junior player from the West African region, with fellow Nigerian, Prosperity Okonkwo, occupying the number 13 position on the African continent.

Okonkwo reached the semifinal of the J100 Monterrey in Mexico before losing to 3-6, 1-6 eventual finalist, Gabet.

From his ranking of 265 in the world, the Nigerian teenager is now ranked 231 after moving 34 spots in the latest world rankings released by the ITF.
Both players, who train at the ITF High Performance Centre in Tunisia, are expected to play more tournaments in the coming weeks, and improve on their rankings as well.
