Oyinlomo Quadre has been adjudged the Tennis Black List College Player of the year, Nigeria Tennis Live can authoritatively confirm.

This news was confirmed by the organizers of the award, via an announcement on their social media page.

The Tennis Black List, Nigeria Tennis Live gathered, is a movement established to celebrate black and mixed-black excellence and underrepresented voices in tennis as well as spotlight trailblazers, power up future leaders and drive global change through recognition, storytelling and community.

And in the third since it was established, the Tennis Black List has pronounced Nigeria’s tennis superstar, Quadre, as its College Player of the year.

While explaining the reason for picking the 10-time National Sports Festival gold medalist, Richard Sackey-Addo, the co-founder of the organization, explained that Quadre still reached great heights in College Tennis despite all the adversities she faced on her way to the top.

In a chat with Nigeria Tennis Live, he said: “We have a steering group from different facets of tennis that discussed possible players who have shown themselves as role models, not just on the court but off it. Some of these people are known to us while some are not.

“They saw how much of a talent she is and decided that both for her on and off the court achievements, she deserves this award.

Quadre, formerly a student at the Florida International University (FIU), will resume as a new student at the Oklahoma University in August, after completing her switch a few weeks ago.
