Goodnews Aina created an unprecedented upset when she defeated Nigeria’s number one female tennis player, Khadijat Mohammed, at the ongoing J30 Abuja event in Abuja.
The youngster who is unseeded for the competition, gave the number four seed a tough fight for her money and came out tops after the highly competitive encounter inside the tennis section of the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja.
Mohammed who boasts a J30 title already, took the first set 6-4 against the Ekiti-born Aina, but the Women’s Doubles bronze medalist at the recent National Sports Festival came out blazing in the second set to win 6-3.
