The match was deemed the final before the final, as the 11-yeaar-old was at her very best during the encounter which brought the best out of both players on the court. She will now square up against Goodnews Aina, another Ekiti player.

Aina had to battle assiduously against Favour James, another promising player from Akwa Ibom, in what was another outstanding contest at the ongoing championship. She was up 3-0 before the GUEF Tennis Academy player dragged herself back into the game.

The first set ended 6-4 in favour of the southpaw player but the second set was a lot more interesting and entertaining. James saves about 10 match points before eventually succumbing to an 8-10 loss in the tiebreak.
