Ex-national tennis player, Destiny Ford Da-Silva, has concluded plans to feed over one thousand families this Easter, Nigeria Tennis Live has gathered.

Da-Silva has been actively involved in charity works since he retired from active tennis through his Foundation, and has decided to extend the benevolence to underprivileged athletes and their families during the Easter period.

According to him: “I was planning to do for only 300 physically-challenged and underprivileged athletes before, but I just thought it would be nice to go even further, hence the change.

“This is something I believe God commissioned me to do and it gives me immense joy to see people go home happy because of my obedience to such instructions.

“We all know that we are in a really challenging period in our country right now, so, it is not out of place to put smiles on people’s faces from the little that God has given us.

“Whether we do it or not, these people will feed and live their lives, but we will be more than grateful to be part of their lives and be the reason they don’t go to bed on empty stomach”.

The Destiny Ford Da-Silva Foundation whose slogan is helping the needy has been involved in providing social, educational and economic empowerment to women and children in the past.

Also, they have been helping underprivileged athletes within the tennis section of the national stadium in the past but the Founder believes that extending it to others outside the tennis arena will go a long way.

“The date we are proposing for this event is Friday, April 18th – on Good Friday, inside the tennis section of the National Stadium. We will be starting from the morning for this programme and there are no restrictions whatsoever.

“It is our desire to help those who are in need and make them happy,” he told our correspondent during a recent chat.

Nigeria Tennis Live will be on ground to provide coverage for the event that promises to attract crowd within the stadium on Good Friday.
