The International Tennis Federation (ITF) has released a list of countries who will be battling Nigeria for promotional tickets from Davis Cup Africa Group III.
Nigeria qualified as the second best country despite being the least ranked nation from a tight group in 2024 and reached the World Group II Playoffs for the first time in decades.
Consequently, the quartet of Christopher Bulus, David Ekpenyong, Canice Abua and Michael Emmanuel led by Coach Benson Ishicheli, stormed South Africa for the playoffs, but lost out after coming agonizingly close to creating a huge upset.

The Nigerian team is now expected to participate in the regional qualifiers to stand a chance of reaching the World Group II playoffs for the second consecutive year.
Nigeria Tennis Live has now gathered that the ITF has released the countries Nigeria will be competing against for the coveted promotion.
Namibia and Zimbabwe who both qualified alongside Nigeria from the Africa Group III and could not proceed to the World Group II have returned to the zonal qualifiers while Senegal and Algeria secured promotion from Africa Group IV.

Thus; Nigeria, Namibia, Algeria, Senegal and Zimbabwe will compete in the Africa Group III Qualifiers.
Although the date and venue for the competition have not been confirmed by the ITF, the information on the Davis Cup website have it that three countries will gain promotion while two will be relegated.
