Chukwudubem Amasiani and Mofifunoluwa Atilola will be flying Nigeria’s flag high at the ITF/CAT U-14 Circuit in Morocco, Nigeria Tennis Live can report.
The youngsters, who are expected to depart the shores of the country on Saturday, 25 January, will be playing against youngsters from different parts of the continent at the Grade 1 tournament which will hold across two legs.
Amasiani, ranked Africa’s number three U-14 player, is the tournament’s number one seed and will be heavily tipped to win the competition across both legs to further push him up on the continental rankings.
His Nigerian counterpart at the event, meanwhile, will be playing from the qualifying rounds as she will be competing outside the country for the first time ever.

Ahead of the competition, Atilola told Nigeria Tennis Live that she feels nervous about the tournament, especially because it will be her first competition outside the country.
“I honestly don’t know how I feel, but I know that I feel nervous… I don’t know.
“It’s my first tournament ever outside Nigeria, so, I feel kind of nervous. But I’ll give it my best and see how it goes,” the 11-year-old Nigerian tennis sensation told our correspondent.

Despite reaching the Girls’ U-16 final of the ongoing TPPA Special UTR competition in Lagos, Atilola will not be playing the finals as she will have to travel to Morocco on Saturday, 25 January, the same date as the finals of the event.
Nigerians will be looking forward to an outstanding outing for the youngsters who are two of Nigeria’s hottest tennis prospects.
