Organizers of the Professional Tennis Registry (PTR) Coaches Certification course have confirmed the date and the venue of the highly-anticipated event.
The PTR is a gobally-acceptable coaches’ certification programme that provides training for coaches and professionals at all levels, and Nigerian coaches have not been an exception.
Certified US-based PTR Clinician, Abel Ubiebi, has been at the forefront of PTR Coaches Certification in Nigeria and has given Nigeria Tennis Live an update on the latest activities of the organization.

Coaches had been inundating our correspondent with calls about when the next PTR Certification programme would take place, and Coach Ubiebi has now provided an important update.
According to him, this year’s edition of the coaches’ training will hold at the Abeokuta Sports Club, Abeokuta, Ogun State, from 4- 7 March, 2025.
The event, holding for the first time in Abeokuta, is aimed at decentralizing the venue for the training, which will also afford other prospective coaches from neighbouring States to participate.
Coach Ubiebi, Founder of the Aces Tennis Academy, also noted that: “The standard fee for the training is $400 or its equivalence in the Nigerian naira, however, to encourage the coaches, we will be giving a discount to early birds.

“Any participant who registers on or before 10 February will get a 10% discount on their registration. The fee is without any form of accommodation or feeding as there are really affordable hotel rooms at the Sports Club where we will be having the training“.
Over coaches from Ghana, Togo, South Africa and Nigeria have benefited from the PTR Certification Course since it was introduced to Nigeria over ten years ago.
It is also worthy to note that most of the Nigerian coaches who are in places like Dubai, China, Saudi Arabia and some in US are certified by the Clinicians.
