Junior players across Nigeria will have their works cut out this new year as they welcome 2025 with a couple of junior tennis tournaments.
Nigeria Tennis Live gathered that there will be three weeks of non-stop tennis action for junior tennis players to start the new tennis season.
The first tournament of the year is the annual Rock Tennis Foundation Junior Competition which always holds at the tennis section of the Abeokuta Sports Club in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
The regional tournament is organized by the prestigious Rock Tennis Foundation for players in the southwestern part of the country, and to develop tennis talents from Ogun State.
Our correspondent gathered that the event which will be featuring players from Ogun, Ondo, Lagos, Osun, Ekiti and Oyo States will hold from 9-11 January, 2025 starting with a tennis clinic for the players.

Immediately after the Rock Tennis Foundation tournament is the Azimuth Shipping Lines Junior Tennis Championship which is scheduled to hold in Lagos.
The Azimuth event is one of the most anticipated junior tennis events in Nigeria, especially because of the number of players often expected at the annual event.
Nigeria Tennis Live can report that the event will serve off on Monday, 13 and end on Saturday 18 January, 2025, inside the Lagos Lawn Tennis Club, Onikan, Lagos State.

Players are expected from every State of the federation as the tournament marks its seventh anniversary of championing junior tennis tournament organization in Nigeria.
Quickly following the Azimuth Championship is a Universal Tennis Rating (UTR) event organized by the Tennis Players Parents Association (TPPA).
The TPPA has been at the forefront of organizing UTR tournaments for tennis players to improve their UTR points which can aid players’ scholarship abroad.
The UTR event billed to hold at the Lagos Country Club, Ikeja, will hold from 20-25 January, 2025, with players invited to participate in boys’ and girls’ U-12, 14, 16 and youth categories.
