The Tennis Players Parents Association (TPPA) has announced that there will be a special Universal Tennis Rating (UTR) tournament in Lagos State.
Recall that the TPPA had planned its annual regionals to accommodate players from different regions across the country, and had announced the venues and locations for the same.

However, due to certain factors, the regionals could not hold in 2024 as scheduled, and the event had to be postponed.
But in a new development, Nigeria Tennis Live has gathered that the TPPA is now putting together a special UTR event for players who are able to come to Lagos to participate in the event.
Mr. Segun Aluko, President of the TPPA, informed our correspondent that the tournament seeks to help players earn points and refresh the UTR ahead of the new tennis season.
“This is a special edition and it will only hold in Lagos. We just want to use this to refresh the UTR points of our players as we go into the new tennis season.
“The regionals which we initially planned will still be held as scheduled, but at a later date. We just thought to quickly put this together for players and it will be held in Lagos to refresh their UTR points ahead of the new tennis year,” he said.
