Rock Tennis Foundation, renowned for organizing junior tennis clinic, coaches’ training and tennis tournaments, has built new tennis court in Ilara, Ogun State.
Nigeria Tennis Live gathered that the tennis facility was single-handedly built by Mr. Kolade Adegelu, CEO iWorld Networks, a member of the Foundation on behalf of the Foundation ahead of its forthcoming junior tennis tournament and coaches’ retreat.
The location of the new tennis facility is a border town between Ogun State and Benin Republic, and this goes to show how much tennis development the facilitators are planning to bring to the area.

Mr. Akinyemi Bammeke, President of the Foundation, informed our correspondent that the tennis court would be officially launched with a coaches’ retreat ahead of their flagship tournament and clinic.
“We shall be starting our tournament this year with a coaches’ retreat in Ilara, Ogun State where one of our members, Mr Kolade Adegelu, built a new tennis facility for the community on behalf of the Foundation.
“The court is on a private farm, but the kids there will have access to the facility and we intend to keep up with the trainings there.
“If you know Ilara very well, you’ll know that it is a remote community and situating this facility there goes to show you how much development we are willing to bring to Ogun State in the nearest future,” the Rock Tennis Foundation member told Nigeria Tennis Live.

On the sixth edition of their junior tennis competition, he explained that the tournament will still be restricted to players from south west Nigeria – Ondo, Osun, Lagos, Oyo, Ekiti and Ogun States.
He noted, however, that there are still plans in progress to make the tournament a national event to encourage other kids from other parts of the country to participate.
“Our plan for January is to hold the coaches’ retreat from 6-8 January in Ilara, and return to hold a proper clinic and junior tournament here from 9-11 January.
“It’s our seventh year of hosting this tournament and we are more than excited to have the kids come over to Ogun State again, as we hope to keep giving them a tournament to look out for at the beginning of every year,” Mr. Bammeke added.
Nigeria Tennis Live will be on ground to provide coverage for the tournament and update our readers on developments from the event.
