Nigeria’s duo of Daniel Adeleye and Prosperity Okonkwo will be playing the final of the J60 Accra event in Ghana, Nigeria Tennis Live has gathered.

The youngsters ensured an all-Nigeria final after winning their respective semifinal matches despite playing against tough oppositions.

Okonkwo defeated Francky Hoimian, the competition’s number one seed, in an enthralling match and secured his berth in the final for the second time in four weeks.

Having won the week two (J30) of the Junior ITF event in Accra, the Abuja-based teenager will be hoping for a second title in four weeks and his third in 2024.

Adeleye, on the other hand, was more clinical against his Indian opponent, and played some of his best tennis to reach his second consecutive J60 final after winning last week’s event.

A win for the Davis Cup player will not only boost his ITF ranking, but also put him among the elite junior tennis players around.

The match is also a repeat of the J30 final tie between the pair in Abuja, Nigeria, a few months ago, which Okonkwo won seamlessly.

It is yet to be seen if the same fate awaits Adeleye, who is the tournament’s number two seed, when the Nigerian brothers take to court on Saturday, 5 October, 2024.

Nigeria Tennis Live will keep tabs on the match which is sure to keep the spectators at the Accra Sports Stadium on their feet, and report the outcome to our teeming readers scattered across the world.
