Seyi Ogunsakin has expressed satisfaction and relief after defeating resilient Amir Mohammed in their U-16 quarterfinal match at the ongoing Gbolahan Odele Junior Tennis Championship in Lagos.

Ogunsakin was made to swallow a bitter pill of defeat when the duo met for the first time in the Boys U-14 final at the Adewale Isa Foundation Junior Tennis Championship in Lagos.

Mohammed, relatively unknown to many tennis followers across the country, handed an infamous defeat inside the centre court of the tennis section at the national stadium in Surulere, Lagos, venue of the 5th edition of the annual championship.

The match ended 7-6, 6-0 in favour of the Abuja-based youngster and it left his Ekiti-born counterpart completely shattered.

However, less than a week after that incredible match, both players met in the U-16 event at the ongoing Gbolahan Odele Junior Tennis Championship inside the Adejumo Tennis Complex in Ejigbo to renew their rivalry and it was Ogunsakin who had the last laugh with a 7-5 win to take their head to head tie to 1-1.

Damilola Agunbiade from Cross River State will play against Lebi Eniola in the Boys U-14 quarterfinal just as Joseph Omoniyi and Adeiza Yakubu will trade serves in the second match.
