Nigeria’s Christopher Bulus will be on his way to the semifinals of the ongoing M15 Xativa ITF tournament if he wins his quarterfinal match today.

The only Nigerian player flying the country’s flag on the ATP tour won his first two matches in the Men’s Singles event after reaching the Main Draw through the qualifying rounds.

Bulus defeated Netherlands’s Thijmen Loof in the opening rounds in a third set battle that ended 6-2, 4-6, 6-2 in favour of the Nigerian Davis Cup talisman.

The 6-1, 6-4 defeat of Sevilla set the US-based player up against Ignacio Parisca in the quarterfinal of the $15,000 event which the Nigerian player will be hoping to win.

Bulus, currently ranked 1226 in the world ATP rankings will be moving closer to top 900 after his feat in Spain, as he looks forward to adding to his retinue of laurels on the tour.

Nigeria Tennis Live will keep monitoring the player’s performance at the competition and report all his activities as he progresses.
