Daniel Adeleye and Ohunene Yakubu are the number one seeds in the boys’ and girls’ singles event at the J30 Abuja tournament starting on Wednesday, 5 June, 2024.
Adeleye, Nigeria’s highest ranked junior tennis player on the ITF rankings, is the highest ranked player in the draws as sighted on Tuesday, 4 June, 2024, by Nigeria Tennis Live.
He has a bye in his first match and will have to wait until the second round before participating in the J30 Abuja event.
Also, Tunisia-based Yakubu, winner of one of the two legs in Abuja a few months ago, will fancy her chances at this week’s event which also has players from outside Nigeria in attendance.

She is one of the players to watch out for at this competition as she is the top seed, but beyond that, she is one of the most consistent Nigerian players on the junior ITF tour
Meanwhile, giant killer Bright Emmanuel as well as David Edwards, Jeremiah Benjamin, among other players from Lagos will be playing the competition for the very first time ever.
The players who are already on ground for the competition, will be hoping to make their participation in the event count no matter what.
