Gangling Nigerian teenage tennis sensation, David Ekpenyong, is Nigeria’s new number one male tennis player, Nigeria Tennis Live can report.

Ekpenyong won two of the three national tournaments recently played in Abuja and was a losing finalist in the third one.

He won the DavNotch Open and the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Senior Tennis Open Championship but lost the VEMP Open event to Uche Oparaoji, the erstwhile Nigerian number one player.

The highest ranked Nigerian player on the ITF Juniors, has now claimed his rightful place as Nigeria’s most prolific player in the national circuit.

Marylove Edwards consolidated her spot as Nigeria’s number one female player after winning all three national tournaments.

Even though she has since relocated to the United States to continue her tennis development, the Nigerian player remains Nigeria’s highest ranked in the country.

Please, check out all the male rankings here while the female rankings are featured here.
