    AJC Togo: Nigerian Girls Win Two Gold Medals In Doubles Event

    The Nigerian girls representing the country at the ongoing African Junior Tennis Championships in Togo are doing the nation very proud.

    Nigeria Tennis Live checks in Togo revealed that the girls 14 and 16 have won gold medals in the Doubles event, after clinching gold in the Singles event on Tuesday afternoon.

    Ohunene Yakubu, who has been outstanding all week, partnered with Etoro Bassey to whip the Ghanaian pair of Tracy Ampah and Sisu-Makena Tomegah in two straight sets of 6-1, 6-2.

    The Nigerians girls, thus, won gold medal number four for Nigeria at the ongoing competition, and number two in the U-16 category.

    Also, Nigeria’s Khadijat Mohammed partnered with Winner Gakpo from Togo, to defeat Ndidi Osaji and Bright Emmanuel in the Girls 14 Doubles final.

    As it stands, Team Nigeria has five gold medals from a possible eight, in the Singles and Doubles event for both 14 & 16 boys and girls.

    The players are currently on the courts for the Team events which Nigeria Tennis Live gathered, is being dominated, yet again, by the Nigerian youngsters.
