    Akindoju, Ndanusa, Owoseni To Receive Meritorious Award

    Engr. Ifedayo Akindoju is top on the list of major tennis stakeholders who will receive different awards from the Nigerian Tennis Umpires Association (NTUA).

    This much was confirmed to Nigeria Tennis Live by Mr. Kehinde Ijaola, the NTUA President, during a brief conversation this week.

    Engr. Dayo Akindoju, the President of the Nigeria Tennis Federation (NTF), is eyeing the construction of a High Performance Centre in Nigeria. He is also one of the recipients of the meritorious award.

    The awardees will be presented with their awards during the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the NTUA which is scheduled to hold on Saturday, 13 March, 2021, at Adesba International Hotel, Panseke, Abeokuta, Ogun State.

    Our correspondent gathered that this award was designed to celebrate the contributions of Akindoju the President of the Nigeria Tennis Federation (NTF) to the growth of tennis in the country.

    Ijaola also explained that the former NTF President, Engr. Sani Ndanusa and Mr. Yemi Owoseni, the Vice President of the NTF, are also recipients of this award.

    “No matter how you want to look at it, you cannot overemphasize the contribution of the recipients of this award to tennis in Nigeria.

    “In so many ways, they have contributed to the growth of tennis in Nigeria and we are most grateful for their immense contributions over the years,” the NTUA President explained.

    Mr. Godwin Kienka, the Director of the International Tennis Academy (ITA) organizers of the NCC Tennis League is also one of the recipients of the NTUA meritorious award.

    Other recipients include: Edmond Ajoge, Sponsor of Tombim Open; Bayo Okunsanya, Sponsor of GSL Open; Alhaji M. B. Gumel, Sponsor of Dala Open; Mr. Gabriel Ogbechie, Sponsor of Rainoil Open.

    Arc. Adeleke Bada, Chairman, Ogun State Tennis Association; Mr. Sylvester Uzoama, Chairman/CEO Circum Nigeria Limited; Mr. Obinna Ofodum, Patron, NTUA are the other beneficiaries of the award.

    Nigeria Tennis Live will be live at the venue of the event on Saturday and update our followers/readers as things unfold.
