In an interesting realization of her dreams, Sarah Adegoke will get the chance to play against Oyinlomo Quadre when the pair battle for the Women’s Singles final slot on Friday.

Prior to the commencement of the tournament, Adegoke had expressed her desire to play Quadre at some point during the competition, to test her ability against the imposing youngster.

She noted that the current Nigerian number one is arguably the best in the country, and sharing the court with her would be a dream come through.

After defeating Aanu Aiyegbusi, another solid player, 6-1, 6-0, Adegoke will now square up against the defending champion in a bid to win her third championship.

In the Men’s Singles, unsung hero, Musa Mohammed will have to be at his imperial best against Nonso Madueke.

In his quarterfinal tie, Mohammed dealt the Nigerian number one star a huge blow, forcing the defending champion to retire the game at 1-4.

And just like he did by winning the J5 competition in Abuja in 2019, the local boy will banking on home support to defeat another formidable opponent in Madueke.

In the second semifinals, Marylove Edwards who crushed former national champion and tennis umpire, Christie Agugbom, in two straight sets, will battle Osariemen Airhunwunde for her second ever finals appearance.

Also, Joseph Imeh who had a walk over Emmanuel Idoko, will have to get past the rampaging Uche to land in his second CBN Open final.

In the wheelchair tennis, Alex Adewale will battle Williams Ukari for a place in final while Wasiu Yusuf will tackle Kazeem Akanbi for the second slot.

For the Women, number one star, Kafayat Omisore will battle another top seed Vivian Ozurumba for a finals slot. Chituru Nwaozuzu will have to wait for her opponent from the yet to be played quarterfinal clash.

Nigeria Tennis Live will continue monitoring activities in Abuja, and report to our teeming followers.
