Organizers of the ongoing Tswako Foundation junior tennis tournament have expressed shock at the number of players who stormed the venue of the event on the first day of the event.

Nigeria Tennis Live had reported that US-based tennis player, Sadiq Tswako, through his foundation, organised a three-day competition for the youngsters at his Life Camp base to discover new talents for tennis in Nigeria.

And on the first day of the tournament, our correspondent gathered that against the thirty youngsters expected for the competition, over sixty players were at the Life Camp Club to participate in the event.

According Tswako, the organizers were shocked by the turnout of the players who came to be registered to compete against one another.

“We had about 50 to 60 kids today, it was crowded,” he began.

“Didn’t even expect the number we had.”

The junior competition for Under 14 & 16 players will continue on Wednesday, 18 December, and end on Thursday, 19, as they look forward to winning the trophies, medals and prizes on display.

Nigeria Tennis Live will continue with updates from the competition which aims to prepare the next generation of tennis players for the country.
